Lynx Air: History

Lynx Air, formerly called Enerjet, is a charter airline based at Calgary International Airport in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The airline is committed to transporting workers from the oil arena to job sites in Alberta and hiring tour operators and vacationers. The airline began operations in the spring of 2009.

Enerjet was originally formed in 2006 by a small group of entrepreneurs addressing what they perceived to be a gap in the service provided by major Canadian airlines, WestJet and Air Canada, in central Canada. When planned, it was known as NewAir and Tours until October 20, 2008, when NewAir and Tours revealed their corporate name and logo to be referred to as Enerjet. Enerjet was founded by nine people, including Tim Morgan, a former WestJet vice president. On November 28, 2008, Enerjet received the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and the Air Operators License granted by the Canadian Transportation Agency.
