Low-cost airline «Air Arabia»

Air Arabia (Arabic: العربية للطيران) is a budget airline headquartered at Sharjah International Airport, United Arab Emirates. It is the first budget airline in the Middle East.Although Air Arabia positions itself as a budget airline, its business model is closer to that of hybrid airlines. A flight from Air Arabia often costs the same as a flight with classic airlines. In addition, the airline charges for luggage and food, but allows you to book tickets with connections on a single form, which is not typical for budget airlines.

The main base of the airline is Sharjah International Airport. Other focal cities are Alexandria and Casablanca.

The company is headquartered at Sharjah International Airport. The airport is located 15 kilometers from the central part of Dubai.

Air Arabia differs from many low-cost carriers in that it offers inter-destination flights with transfers at Sharjah’s base airport.

AirArabia announced at a press conference on September 9, 2009 that they would create a new airline based in Egypt with the Travco group to develop tourism in Egypt and expand Air Arabia’s network. Travco is Egypt’s largest travel company.

The airline operates scheduled services to 170 destinations in the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Central Asia and Europe to 22 countries from Sharjah, 28 destinations in 9 countries from Casablanca, Fez, Nador and Tangier, 11 destinations in 8 countries from Ras Al Khaimah, and 6 destinations in 4 countries from Alexandria.
